The Gardiner Library has begun the pivotal work of obtaining its Sustainable Library Initiative Certification (SLI).
Along with everyone else, the Gardiner Library has continually adapted over the past 16 months.
What’s a library advocate, you ask? The answer: anyone that connects with their public library and tells other people to get connected too!
A few years ago, while admiring the work of New Paltz High School Advanced Placement (AP) Studio Art students, I realized that the Gardiner Library could be a venue to display their work. I got in touch with an art studio teacher at the high school and a partnership was born.
The library’s travel series will provide opportunities for the whole family to learn about the cultures, animals and natural environments of places around the world.
The goal is for our book collection to represent and reflect everyone in our community.
A library is one of those special places that build a sense of community and belonging for our children.
